Your Valentine’s Day Outfit Guide
Words by: Isla Philo. Design by: Melanie Makariou
This year, Valentine’s Day lands on a Saturday, which is the perfect excuse to go all out, or opt for the opposite with a cosy night in. No matter your plans, our outfit guide assures it’ll be love at first look.

RESERVATIONS FOR TWO
Securing the perfect date-night dinner outfit is the easy part with this season’s new dress additions. Securing a dinner reservation for the 14th might be a different story, however. But we’re here for the outfits.
Strike a classic note in bold red with the lace and crepe Fit + Flare Maxi dress, which also comes in black for those who prefer an LBD. Staying on the red theme, embrace bold colour and a simple silhouette with the Bias Cut Maxi Dress in soft, textured fabric. Or choose statement florals with the Paisley fluid crepe maxi dress. And there’s no need to rely on your date to borrow a blazer if it gets cold. There’s everything you need in our tailoring edit.

DRINKS AT THE BAR
There’s nothing like a statement color pop shade to make sure you stand out in a dimly lit cocktail bar. Which is just as well, because vivid tones of purple are a standout in this season’s colour palette.
Hero purple styles include the Fit + Flare Midi Dress and the matching Double Zip Crop Jacket, both detailed with contrasting red fringing that outlines the fitted silhouettes. Double zips are a key intelligent design feature this season: they let you create your ideal level of coverage while keeping your carefully chosen belt on show.
We’re positioning the new-season jumpsuits as the perfect style for looking polished while perhaps precariously perched on a bar stool. Introducing the new Very Wide-Leg Jumpsuit. Shaped with slightly puffed short sleeves, balanced by double pleats that give enhanced volume through the leg. Available in Violet Purple, or there’s Navy if you prefer a neutral.

FRIENDS NIGHT OUT
The enduring friends' night out formula: jeans and a nice top. We’ll add a blazer too, since it’s February. To get this formula right, the key is keeping it modern, and it’s all in the proportions.
If you’re wearing an Oversized Blazer, balance the boxy shape with a fluid, slimmer-fitting underlayer like the Elevated Cowl Neck Top in silk satin. Up the ante and extend the styling options with the coordinating silk Evening Scarf. We’re knotting it like a tie for the ultimate androgynous twist. Classic blue-wash denim is the ideal partner to a monochrome look, so choose something smart-casual like the Ankle Grazer Jean, complete with turn-up cuffs. In keeping with the monochrome theme but inverting the proportions, look to the Feminine Sleeve Blazer in Ivory, balanced by the Wide-Leg Track Pant in leather.

COUNTRY RETREAT
If you’re being whisked away for a weekend, then it calls for a look with a touch of classic countryside heritage, with a modern twist, of course.
Time spent outside calls for a practical top layer like the Reversible Mac + Hood. The choice of Pale Camel or water-resistant check offers multiple styling options in one investment, and the button-detachable hood adds further protection against inclement weather. The relaxed fit means room to layer, especially if it’s a neat silhouette like our Fitted Military Jacket or the Sharp Shoulder Blazer in Italian wool-blend check.

COSY NIGHT IN
If a cosy night at home is on the cards, then so is a comfy yet put-together outfit. A matching set like the new-season Travel Tailoring co-ord is ideal. Soft tweed jersey, a comfortable, wide-leg pants and an easy-wearing yet polished jacket. Or look to the Palazzo Pant in soft modal jersey, fitted with a foldover wide waistband and super wide-cut legs that are curl-up-on-the-sofa-approved.
