REBOOT YOUR SUIT WITH OUR WORKWEAR ESSENTIALS

More contemporary-cool than corporate, the classic two and three-piece suit has been given a much-needed and deserved - considering how much we’ve grown to rely on them for everything from work to weekend celebrations - refresh. Gone are the structured silhouettes that felt so stuffy and a world away from the pieces we’d choose to wear without an office or RSVP invite dress code to contend with. These new women’s workwear styles are softer, they place comfort in the same place on their list of priorities as the cut. There’s Italian tailoring in subtle pinstripes, luxuriously tactile velvet, an A-line skirt, and of course, a work trouser (or five).

Below, six contemporary takes on the classic two (and three) piece suit.

MIX + MATCH TAILORING

Two blazers, two work pants, and one skirt; five pieces come together in our edit of mix-and-match suiting. Crafted from tailoring woven with materials that have a lower impact on the planet, a short and long-length blazer is complemented by a wide-leg man pant, a cropped pant and last - but not least - an A-line skirt suspended from a high waistline. Each piece seamlessly slots in alongside one another to build your perfect two-piece suit. Pair the short-length blazer with the man pant to make your legs look endlessly long and complement a petite frame by styling it with the cropped pant.

THREE'S A PARTY

When Andy Warhol said, “I always say, one's company, two's a crowd and three's a party”, he was probably referring to his infamous get-togethers at Studio 54 and not women’s office wear, but we think it’s just as apt applied to three-piece suiting and tailoring - even more so when said three-piece suit is crafted from Italian wool-blend tailoring woven with a hint of soft cashmere.

Shoring up not only your edit of workwear-ready tailoring but your weekend wardrobe too, our Three-Piece Pinstripe Suit (whether you build it on the wide-leg pant or slim-crop one) can be worn together for maximum impact - think important work presentations or much-anticipated nuptials - or separately to elevate off-duty staples. The pants hold their own with everything from a classic white tee to a striped work shirt while the blazer grants a classic Canadian Tuxedo (based on our own denim shirt and jeans) a professional polish.

TOMBOY

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that sometimes you want to wear trousers and other times you’d really rather not and this is where a skirt suit steps up.

Satisfying both penchants, this two-piece suit is built on a short tailored blazer and a mini skirt or tapered pant. A trans-seasonal investment, the pieces will stay in your rotation from fall through to the first signs of summer, switching from a shorter hemline with the skirt to a head-to-toe look with the pants. If you’ve had your fill of tailored pants or your closet's groaning under the weight of them, keep the skirt in your cold-weather edit by pairing it with our Thigh High Stretch Leather Boot.

IN THE HIGH LOW

We make a concerted effort to cater to all heights, which is why our wide-leg pants will often feature deep hems that can be lengthened or shortened up to 5cm and our cropped ones can be styled as a flattering full-length style on petites.

Showcasing this versatility: our Herringbone Pant Suits. In a classic French Navy colorway that acts as a refreshing alternative to traditional black suiting, it combines a double-breasted blazer and your choice of a slim-crop pant or wide-leg man pant. Introduce a sports-luxe feel to whichever pairing you land on with our Merino Stretch Rib Layering Hoody. For both business and pleasure, it builds a perfectly polished travel look with our East West Day Tote (kitted out with a padded sleeve for your laptop no less) and Retro Sneaker.

LESS IS MORE

Sometimes the best things in life are the simplest; while the most seasoned of five-star restaurant connoisseurs find comfort in something as classic as bread and butter, the clean, uncomplicated cuts and classic navy hue of our Flannel Tailoring act as your own sartorial palate cleansers to more structured pieces.

We painstakingly pour over every inch of our pieces, which is why every element of our Italian Flannel High-Waisted Wide-Leg Pant has been expertly designed to fit, flatter, and feel comfortable; see the pleated details that add subtle structure to the wide-leg silhouette, the wide and thinner belt loops working their way around the waistband to complement your pick of belts, and the positioning of the pockets towards the front of the side seams. In short, we aren’t taking any chances when it comes to building your forever wardrobe. Complemented by a cropped jacket shaped with bracelet-length sleeves, these pieces find the balance between pared-back and polished, finding a home in every aspect of your rotation.

ADD COLOR

Light and dark neutrals are sartorial safety zones when it comes to suiting, but a pop of color can transform a classic women’s workwear pairing into something more contemporary. Bold and bright, our Italian Short Velvet Boyfriend Blazer infuses your look with self-assured confidence without making you commit to a head-to-toe look. Pair the style with our Italian Flannel High-Waisted Wide-Leg Pant to create a subtle texture clash while grounding the eye-catching color.
