Lots of our hero dresses are created using breathable, crease-free fabric, from linen blends to cheesecloth, which means they won’t end up looking crumpled after a few hours or being worn on a sweaty commute. It also makes them sensible companions for any holiday, as they can be worn straight from a suitcase. Then there are certain tricks our design team lean on to help with fit – many of our dresses have adjustable necklines, whether that’s with a discreet zip or a hook-and-eye clasp, which means you can find your most flattering silhouette. Also, our dresses often have shirred or elasticated panels at the back, so that the dress naturally adjusts to your silhouette, while fit-and-flare shapes have become a ME+EM trademark.
While a white, black or navy dress is always a powerful foundational piece for any wardrobe, our design team also loves experimenting with colors and prints, which are all bespoke designs created in the London studio. This summer a lot of our prints have a vintage, authentic feel, with 70s-inspired florals in a muted color palette. As for colors, our palette is extensive, with soft lilac, bold orange and golden metallics amongst the most dominant shades on our SS24 moodboard.
