A significant shift away from pants was noted across SS24 collections. Where before there were dramatic wide-leg linen pants or cropped kick flares complementing a tailored jacket, cropped tee, or sheer shirt there was instead a skirt - or more specifically, a midi skirt.
A combination of fashion’s referencing of 90s trends and a decidedly 2024 approach to reinventing familiar staples, these midi skirts played the role of everything from tailored pant to cargo pant and trusty jean.
Our iterations of these spring skirts come courtesy of our designers’ intense scrutiny of cut, shape, fabric and function. None are one-trick ponies, they’re carefully constructed to play multiple roles in your closet, transitioning from workwear to easy weekend wear with a few minor tweaks.
Meet our Midis
The Utility Wrap Skirt
Utility-inspired pieces have become a closet stalwart - we can’t count the number of cargo pants we own (our versatile cotton pair being just one) - and this midi borrows the oversized patch pockets of those staples to introduce interest and a functional element to the classic A-line silhouette.
Crafted from tan cotton with a soft-yet-structured drape and neatly stitched with seam detailing, it achieves both a polished finish while introducing an off-duty edge to more classic workwear pieces. Wear it as you would a pair of cargo pants: with anything and everything. Nothing is out of the equation. We like it styled with a soft blue shirt during the week and a white tank for a more casual look.
The Denim Insert Midi
Using our Split Seam Flare Jean as a springboard, this denim skirt is crafted from Italian denim featuring two different washes; one light and the other dark that highlights the godet detailing placed at the sides and at the center of the front and back to introduce a fluidity and soft structure to the style.
Tap into another SS24 motif - classic neutrals - with our Cashmere Layered Wrap Top, the innovative result of pairing a sleeveless vest with a wrap cardigan-style top for the ultimate shortcut to layered outfit-building. We’ve finished off the look with our Western Boot and Bouclé Swing Jacket.
If not Midi, Make it Maxi
If you’re a fan of a floor-sweeping silhouette, there are reasons to rejoice this year. Rather than hemlines showing any signs of creeping up, the other style coming to the fore for SS24 was maxi skirts. While a midi creates flattering space at your ankles and complements styling with everything from ankle boots to low-top sneakers, maxi skirts manage to achieve both a bohemian air and a sense of occasion.
The Sateen Maxi Skirt
With the same versatility as a pair of tailored suit pants - with a matching blazer to boot - our Heavy Cotton Sateen Maxi Skirt is structured with soft pleats that start below the deep waistband intelligently designed for bulk-free styling with untucked tops while highlighting your waist when pieces are tucked in. Another detail taken from tailored pants: our practical pockets positioned to retain a streamlined silhouette while introducing a functional element to the style.
Dress down the perfectly pink style with casual staples like a classic white tee or cozy knit and sign off your look with a pair of sneakers for a high-low balance.
The Ginko Leaf-Print Skirt + Belt
In a lightweight blend of silk and cotton with a slight sheen and covered in our bespoke Ginko Leaf print that combines a dark backdrop with cream details, this floor-length floral skirt is an effortless year-round staple. Layer it up in colder months with knitwear and insulating outerwear and as the seasons change switch to a vest layered under an open, cropped shirt to complement the skirt’s high waistline, cinching it in with the optional belt for a more defined finish.
